About PriFi.info

PriFi.info is an independent, non-commercial tracker of privacy-preserving finance. It shows how much value sits in private DeFi protocols and privacy coins, how that is changing, and where the numbers come from.

It is not affiliated with any project it lists, or with other projects that use the PriFi name. Listing a protocol is not an endorsement and says nothing about its legal status where you live.

Information only, not investment, legal or tax advice.

Corrections policy

Entries link the documents they rest on and say when they were checked. Corrections with a source are welcome, and each one applied is noted in the Changes feed.

How entries are checked

Primary sources come first: laws, official gazettes, regulators and courts for the country rules; each exchange's own market data and notices for the listings; and each project's documentation, code, audit reports and governance records for the protocol profiles. For the rules and listings, press reports are used only where no primary source could be reached, and an entry that rests on them alone is marked Reported.

Every country rule, exchange listing and profile, and every entry on the Timeline, Funding, Watchlist, Wallets and Calendar pages and in the Bitcoin privacy section, has a confidence level, Confirmed, Reported or Not verified, and the day it was checked. The tracked protocols and the coin basket are reviewed as a whole, and the types and statuses of the tracked protocols are PriFi.info's own classification.

Sending a correction

Send the address of the page, what is wrong and a link to a document that shows it, a primary source where possible, using the contact details under Contact. A correction without a source can still point to a problem, but it cannot be applied until one is found.

How a correction is applied

Each correction is checked against its source. If the source bears it out, the entry is corrected, its checked-on date moves to the day of the re-check, and a note on the Changes page and in its RSS feed says what changed. A new status, rule level or exchange listing is also logged there automatically at the next hourly update, with the value it replaced. Mistakes the site finds itself are corrected the same way.

Licence and citation

Licence

The data behind PriFi.info, on its pages and in the files on the Data page, is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt it for non-commercial purposes if you credit PriFi.info, link to the licence and say what you changed.

The non-commercial condition comes from Coin Metrics Community Data, which is published under CC BY-NC 4.0 and is part of the daily history. Figures from other publishers keep their own terms, set out under Sources and their terms.

Project logos belong to their projects. Each comes from the project's own website and is shown only to identify it; none is covered by the licence.

What the site does not do

No advice

Everything here is information only. It is not investment, legal or tax advice, and not an offer or recommendation to buy, sell or use any asset or service. Figures come from third parties and can be incomplete, delayed or revised: check the original source before relying on one.

No commercial use

The site carries no advertising, sponsored content or paid listings, and sells nothing. Its data may be reused for non-commercial purposes only, as the licence above sets out.

No tracking

The site sets no cookies, uses no other browser storage and runs no analytics, advertising or other third-party scripts. Its content security policy lets pages load scripts, styles, images and data from prifi.info only, and its server keeps no log of visits. Pages reach you through Cloudflare, whose network handles your IP address to deliver them, under its own privacy policy.

Sources and their terms

Each source is credited wherever its figures appear, and the Sources page lists the data sources with when each was last fetched. Their terms, as read on 16 Oct 2026:

DefiLlama

Terms of use

DefiLlama's terms of use license its data for personal, non-commercial purposes (clause 7) and do not allow it to be republished without permission (clause 8). Permission for PriFi.info is pending. Meanwhile the site credits DefiLlama wherever its figures appear, and the DefiLlama figures in the downloads stay under its terms.

Documents behind the entries

Their own terms

The country rules, exchange listings and protocol profiles link the documents they rest on: laws and gazettes, regulators' and courts' decisions, exchanges' notices and market pages, and projects' documentation, code and audit reports. The site describes them in its own words and links each one; they keep their own terms.

How the site is run

Who runs it

PriFi.info is run by one independent operator in the United Kingdom.

Contact

A contact address will be published here.

For a correction, the corrections policy above says what to send.

The server

The site runs on one always-on server, which collects the data, builds the pages and serves them. It fetches market caps, prices and the Zcash pools every five minutes and TVL every hour, rebuilds the pages every hour, and refreshes the full daily histories once a day, after 01:20 UTC.

The server also follows six chains for the live ticker on the Activity page: the Tornado Cash, Railgun and Privacy Pools contracts on Ethereum through PublicNode, Monero through the public nodes run by Cake Wallet and Seth for Privacy, Zcash through ZecBlock, the Privacy Cash program on Solana through Solana's public RPC, Liquid through Blockstream's Esplora API and Aztec through Aztecscan. It keeps what they send for 7 days, then deletes it, and the ticker shows only what any public node sees.

The pages and the code

Pages are plain HTML, built on the server. The only scripts are the site's own, which draw the charts and the map, filter and sort the lists, count down to the dates ahead and keep the figures up to date. The charts use uPlot, under the MIT licence; the rest of the code was written for the site. The code is not public yet, and may be released publicly later.
