Developer activity

Public code activity for the protocols, privacy coins, wallets and tools this site tracks: commits each week, contributors, the last push and the latest release, from each project's public repositories on GitHub.

  • 42 projects
  • 49 repositories
  • 48 read so far

Read from the GitHub API between 28 Oct 2026 and 29 Oct 2026. Commit counts are a sign of activity, not of quality or safety. Information only, not investment advice.

Most active: weekly commits

The ten projects with the most commits in the last 52 weeks, added up across their repositories; the 41 projects with weekly figures so far together made 26,757.

Each row has 52 bars, one a week, from the week starting 2 Nov 2025 to the week starting 25 Oct 2026, which is still running. Each row is scaled to its own busiest week, so compare rows by their totals, not by the height of their bars.

Every project

Sorted by commits in the last 52 weeks; select a column heading to sort by it. Commits are those GitHub counts on each repository's default branch, added up across the project's repositories. Contributors is the highest count among them, so that someone who works on several is not counted twice.

Not read yet: the repository is waiting its turn; at 50 requests an hour, four for each repository, every one is read again about every 4 hours. None published: GitHub shows no published release, which is usual for a project that ships from tags or a website. Hover over a repository for its stars.

Limits of these figures

GitHub only
Only repositories on GitHub are read. Code published on GitLab, Codeberg or a project's own servers is not counted, so a project that works there shows less activity here than it has, or none. On 23 Oct 2026, for example, Second linked its Ark implementation on GitLab, Joinstr its main code on GitLab and Ashigaru its code on a Tor onion service, so none of them is listed.
Mirrors
A repository that mirrors code developed elsewhere shows commits when they reach the mirror, often in batches, and may show no contributors or releases of its own.
Monorepos and many repositories
Up to three repositories are read for each project. A project that keeps everything in one repository is counted in full; one spread over many may show only part of its work.
Forks
A fork carries the commits of the project it was copied from. The list uses each project's own repositories where it can, and marks any repository that GitHub reports as a fork.
Private repositories
Work in private repositories, or not yet published, does not show. Some teams publish code only at release.
What a commit is worth
A commit can be a one-line fix or a large feature, and automated commits, such as dependency updates, count the same. The figures show activity, not quality, security or progress.
Contributors
The accounts GitHub lists as contributors to a repository's default branch. GitHub links at most about 500 of them to accounts through its API, so very large projects are undercounted.
History
GitHub gives weekly commit counts for the last 52 weeks; this site stores each week as it reads it, so the history grows from there. When GitHub has not yet computed a repository's dated weekly counts, its participation figures are used instead: the same 52 weekly totals, counted back from the current week. Stars and contributor counts have no history from GitHub: they are kept from 23 Oct 2026.
Coverage
Repositories are listed for 12 of the 49 protocols on Protocols, as well as for privacy coins, wallets, swap routes, tools and Bitcoin privacy projects. For the other protocols no public repository has yet been confirmed from the project's own site. Each repository was taken from the project's website or documentation, or from the sources the site already cites for it.
Source
The GitHub REST API, read without a token, which GitHub limits to 60 requests an hour; this site makes at most 50 an hour, four for each repository.

Listing a project here is not an endorsement. Information only, not investment advice.
