The Zodl blog covers migration to the new Ironwood shielded pool (posts dated 27 Jul 2026 to 21 Aug 2026). Checked on 16 Oct 2026.

Checked on 16 Oct 2026. | |||||||||
| Maya Protocolmayaprotocol.com | Swap route |
|
Web | Native cross-chain swap protocol with a live ZEC pool; Maya describes Zcash moving privately across chains through Maya, with shielded swaps available in the Edge wallet. | Unclear | Maya Protocol | Active | No dated release
Status and noteStatus ZEC chain not halted and ZEC.ZEC pool 'Available' on 16 Oct 2026 Note Checked again on 16 Oct 2026: ZEC inbound halted=false; ZEC.ZEC pool status Available. Zcash integration announced 3 Jun 2025 (homepage article card, article not opened). The 11 Dec 2025 article says shielded ZEC moves across chains using 'Maya's shielded memo design' and that shielded swaps are supported natively inside Edge, but does not say which Zcash address types Maya vaults send to or receive from. Licence not checked. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| NEAR Intents (1-Click Swap)docs.near-intents.org | Swap route |
|
Web | Cross-chain swap network with native ZEC among supported assets; integrated into Zodl so users can swap into and out of a shielded Zcash wallet without a centralised exchange. | Unclear | NEAR Intents (API at chaindefuser.com) | Active | No dated release
Status and noteStatus Native ZEC listed in the tokens endpoint on 16 Oct 2026 Note Checked again on 16 Oct 2026: the tokens endpoint returned 205 tokens, including native ZEC (assetId nep141:zec.omft.near, blockchain zec) and bridged ZEC on Solana, Starknet, Aptos and NEAR. The swap route itself is not private: the ZEC leg is shielded only when the user's wallet sends from or receives to a shielded address. Whether the 1-Click API pays out directly to shielded addresses was not stated on the pages opened. Open source marked unclear: the verifier smart contracts are public under MIT (near/intents), but the 1-Click API and solver stack are hosted services whose source was not found. Operating entity not named in the docs. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| THORChain (ZEC route)thorchain.org | Swap route |
|
Web | Native cross-chain swaps with a ZEC pool. THORChain says its ZEC integration uses Zcash's transparent UTXO infrastructure and does not provide the same privacy as sending between shielded Zcash addresses; users must shield ZEC separately in their own wallet. | Unclear | THORChain | ZEC halted | No dated release
Status and noteStatus THORChain announced its ZEC integration complete on 7 Oct 2026, but on 16 Oct 2026 the ZEC chain showed halted and trading paused (mimir HALTSIGNINGZEC=1, HALTZECTRADING=1), although the ZEC.ZEC pool is listed as Available. Note Checked again on 16 Oct 2026: ZEC inbound halted=true, chain_trading_paused=true, chain_lp_actions_paused=false; mimir HALTSIGNINGZEC=1 and HALTZECTRADING=1; ZEC.ZEC pool Available. Chain state read from a third-party THORNode API gateway because thornode.ninerealms.com did not resolve. Secondary reports (not opened, found by search) say the ZEC pool went live on 2 Oct 2026 before swaps were enabled. Reason for the current halt and the date it began were not found. Licence not checked. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| Flashbots Protect RPCdocs.flashbots.net | Tool |
|
Web | Private RPC endpoint that sends transactions to a private mempool, hiding them from frontrunning and sandwich bots before inclusion; Flashbots states it does not track, store or log user information. This is pre-trade privacy only; transactions are public once on chain. | Yes | Flashbots | Active | No dated release
NoteNote Ethereum mainnet. Marked open source: the RPC endpoint server is public under the MIT licence, and its README says it is live at rpc.flashbots.net; whether the hosted service runs this code unmodified was not confirmed. No last release is shown: hosted service with no release history. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| Heliosgithub.com/a16z/helios | Tool |
|
Desktop | Light client that turns an untrusted RPC provider into a verified local RPC, so wallets do not have to trust provider responses. It verifies data; it does not by itself hide queries from the provider. | Yes | a16z (GitHub organisation) | Active | 5 Oct 2026 | 2 sources |
Status and noteStatus Repository states it has not been audited Note MIT licence. Supports Ethereum mainnet and testnets, OP Mainnet, Base and Linea. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| Kohakugithub.com/ethereum/kohaku | Tool |
|
None listed | Privacy-first JavaScript tooling for Ethereum wallets: shielded pool libraries for Railgun, Tornado Cash and Privacy Pools, a common plugin interface, provider abstraction including the Helios light client, and a post-quantum ERC-4337 account. | Yes | ethereum GitHub organisation | Work in progress | 15 Oct 2026
Status and noteStatus Parts not ready for production and code unaudited; Railgun module under maintenance Note A developer library, not an end-user app, so no platforms are listed. Marked open source: the root package.json declares the MIT licence, although no LICENSE file was found at the repository root. The last release shown is an alpha package release (privacy-pools 0.1.0-alpha.26); all releases are per-package alpha versions. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
| Privacy Cash Profileprivacycash.org | Tool |
|
Web | Solana shielded pool: deposits add a commitment to a Merkle tree and withdrawals to any address use zero-knowledge proofs so they are not linked to deposits. Web app offers private send, swap and bridge tabs. | No | Privacy Cash team (GitHub organisation Privacy-Cash) | Live | 16 Oct 2025
NoteNote Marked not open source: the code is public but source-available under the Business Source License 1.1, converting to GPL v2.0 or later on 27 Dec 2027. Front end for a protocol rather than a wallet; users connect an existing Solana wallet. README says audited by Accretion, HashCloak, Zigtur and Kriko, and that only SOL is currently supported for private transfers, with SPL tokens to follow. The last release shown is the only GitHub release (program deployment 1.0.2); the repository had commits as late as 29 Sep 2026 and the web app may have been updated since. Checked on 16 Oct 2026.
No entry matches both choices.
- Active or maintained
- In development or testing
- Halted or paused
- Discontinued or archived
- Unclear, or rarely updated
The row under each entry gives the detail of its status and a note on what was checked. A date under Last release links to that release.
How this list was checked
What is listed
- Wallets
- Apps that hold your keys and send and receive coins, with privacy features built in.
- Swap routes
- Ways into and out of privacy coins without an account at a centralised exchange: cross-chain swap networks, atomic swaps and peer-to-peer exchanges.
- Tools
- Software that works alongside a wallet: front ends for privacy protocols, private transaction relays, light clients and developer libraries.
The list is not complete, and leaving a project out says nothing about it.
Columns
- Coins and platforms
- The main coins it supports, by ticker, and where it runs: iOS, Android, desktop (Windows, macOS or Linux) or web (a web app or browser extension), as named on the pages checked. None listed: those pages did not name them.
- Privacy provided
- What the project's own site, documentation or code says it hides or protects. A claim is not a guarantee, and how a tool is used matters: How it works explains where privacy still leaks.
- Open source
- Yes: the code is published under an open-source licence. No: the code is closed, or public only under terms that are not an open-source licence. Unclear: only part of the code was found, the licence was not checked, or no code could be found.
- Status
- The project's state on the day it was checked, in a few words, coloured by kind as in the key under the table. The row below the entry gives the detail.
- Last release
- The date of the latest published release, usually a GitHub release or the version on the project's download page. A tag without a published release is not counted. No dated release: a hosted service or web app, or no release history was found.
Sources
Every entry was checked on 16 Oct 2026, mainly against the project's own website, documentation and code repository, with release dates from its published releases. Each entry lists the pages it rests on, with the publisher and, where the page gives one, its date. Notes say where an entry rests on a third party, such as an API gateway or a press report.
Confidence
An entry marked Not verified rests on pages that do not describe its privacy features, platforms or status; its note says what is missing.
Before you install
Listing is not endorsement. Download only from the official site linked from each name, or the app store listing it points to, and check signatures or checksums where the project publishes them.
Information only, not investment, legal or security advice. Projects change quickly: check the linked sources before relying on an entry.
