Section 21(1)(a) of the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025 says a licensed provider shall 'not undertake mixer or tumbler services or anonymity-enhancing services', and section 2 defines anonymity-enhancing services as 'offering, facilitating or executing transactions in digital assets, with the effect or intention of concealing information'. Breach is an offence under section 21(2), punishable under section 40(3) by a fine of up to ten million shillings, up to five years' imprisonment, or both, for an individual and a fine of up to 25 million shillings for a company. Neither the Act nor the Virtual Asset Service Providers Regulations, 2026 (Legal Notice 134 of 2026, in force 22 July 2026) names privacy coins, and no regulator guidance was found on whether listing them counts as an anonymity-enhancing service, so the effect on exchange listings is untested. The Act commenced on 4 November 2025, section 47 gives existing providers one year from commencement (to 4 November 2026) to comply, and it places no restriction on individuals holding privacy coins.

Exchanges and their restrictions
The 14 exchanges on this site, with the 32 spot markets they list for the seven coins, as checked on 13 Oct 2026. The exchange data records where each listing is restricted as text, so this page quotes each passage that names Kenya, and marks the cells it comes from. An exchange with no such passage has no restriction for Kenya on record here, which does not mean that it is licensed there or open to its residents. A listing is not an endorsement.

Self-hosted wallets for the seven coins
The nine wallets on the Wallets page that hold at least one of the seven coins, with the coins and platforms each supports. The wallet data does not record where each wallet is offered, so this list is the same on every country page, and Kenya's own rules, set out above, apply to their use. A listing is not an endorsement.
